Department of Education Public School Preschools enrol students in the year before they attend school. Students who are commencing school in the following year and will turn 4 before the 31st July (during year of attendance) are eligible for enrolment.
Places at Rosehill Preschool are available for 40 students attending either:
· 3 days per week - Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday in Terms 1 and 2;
· then 2 days per week - Monday, Tuesday in Terms 3 and 4.
or
· 2 days per week - Thursday, Friday in Term 1 and 2
· then 3 days per week - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday in Term 3 and 4.
This equates to an average of 15 hours per week throughout the year. Some students may be offered 3 days per week for all four terms if some families require only 2 days for each term.
Completed Expression of Interest Forms are to be emailed to Rosehill Public School:

Enrolment Guidelines
Preschool Placements
- Preschool places will be allocated according to the Department of Education guidelines. Priority is given to:
- Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islanders
- children living in low socio-economic circumstances

- The principal will offer enrolment in the following order, with priority given to Aboriginal children and those who are disadvantage
- children living within the school's enrolment designated intake area
- children living outside the school's designated intake area and who have siblings enrolled in the school
- to children living outside the school's enrolment designated intake area
Parents will be notified by email during Term 4 if they have been allocated a place.
In area applications will continue to be accepted after placements have been made. Out of area children not offered a place will be placed in priority order. Should a vacancy arise, in area applicants will be considered first in line with the preschool enrolment policy. Should there be no in area applicants the first applicant on the out of area waiting list may be offered a place. Children who are in Australia on temporary visas are able to apply for a place in our preschool.
Parents must accept a place for the full year and complete an enrolment form to confirm the enrolment.
Currently under the affordable initiatives - no fees apply to Goverment Preschool - until further notice.
